Collection of Our Customer’s Contact Data
Contact Data Provided by our Customers
Our customers import contact lists, including email addresses, phone numbers, names, and other relevant information into their MsgTap accounts to utilize our services. Additionally, we might collect demographic details, shopping histories, and data on how these contacts engage with communications. Our customers leverage our platform and technology to deploy campaigns to individuals on these lists. They are obligated to secure consent before adding any email address or phone number to their lists. MsgTap does not share customer-uploaded contact lists with other customers, nor do we use these lists for our own marketing purposes.
Contact Data Provided By You MsgTap will have your email, phone number and other contact details under these circumstances:
- If you opt to receive emails, texts or notifications from our customers via a sign-up form or link.
- If you register for an event organized by one of our customers.
- If you provide your email address or phone number to our customer through any product or service they offer.
Furthermore, MsgTap receives information from you when you engage with a message or any other product from us that our customers use. We store this data on behalf of our customers, and you should direct any inquiries about this data to the respective customer.
Our messages may include a web beacon and other tracking technologies to ascertain if you open an email, confirm delivery, and pinpoint your geographical location, on behalf of our customers. These technologies help us gather log data, including your IP address, browser type, and version. We share data about email interactions and aggregate browser types with our customers to help them enhance their campaigns, tailor offerings, understand engagement levels, and other uses detailed in their privacy policies.
You can opt-out of web beacons in emails by disabling HTML images or choosing “Text Only” emails in your email settings. Other tracking technologies are activated only when you interact with email content, such as clicking a link. You can avoid this data collection by not interacting with emails from our platform.
We also gather information about devices used to access our customers’ websites, including IP addresses, operating systems, and user interactions and navigation on these sites.
We (or another third party) may set a cookie on your browser when you interact with certain forms accessed from our customers’ messages, such as event registrations or donations, to improve visitor tracking. For guidance on managing cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
Use and Sharing of Customer Contact Data
We do not use our customers’ contact lists to send messages for our own purposes. However, we collect data regarding your interactions with messages sent using our products and share this information with our customers. This is done to enhance and provide our services, improve our products, and support our security and compliance efforts.
We may share your information with service providers who develop features and functionalities that integrate with our products, but only when our customers have authorized such sharing. This collaboration helps us offer specific features to our customers. We require these service providers to handle the data in a way that aligns with our own usage policies and adheres to applicable privacy laws.
We may also disclose your personal information if required by law, for example, to respond to a subpoena or other legal process.
Our operations are based in the United States where we also store and process information. Although we might engage service providers outside the United States, we ensure that any transfer of your information complies with relevant privacy legislation.
We provide our customers with advanced targeting features to enhance their contact strategies through our products and services. This may involve partnering with third parties who can supply additional information about you, such as demographic details, shopping histories, geographic locations, and interaction data with marketing communications. This is particularly relevant if you and our customer are both located outside the European Union. We ensure that these third parties are legally allowed to share this information with us and our customers.
Our customers use these features under opt-in conditions to refine their campaigns, segment their lists, and tailor their offerings more effectively. We require our customers to adhere to relevant laws and maintain privacy policies that comply with these regulations. For more information on how our customers utilize the enhanced data we provide, and how you can opt out from this data collection, please contact the sender—the customer—of the communication you received.

If you need to make a request concerning your personal data under applicable privacy laws, we advise responding directly to the contact information provided in the message you received (reply HELP for text messages), as we cannot offer additional details about our customers.
